KNIGHTS TAKE OUT T20 TITLE ON FINALS DAY!
Winning the toss and batting first against South Hobart Sandy Bay in the semi-final, Kingborough could not have gotten off to a better start with openers Jaxon Thorpe making for 49 and Jacob Petersen carrying his bat through the innings making 52*, Sam Morgan chipped in with a quick fire 20 leading Kingborough to 3/157 of their 20 overs. In Kingborough’s bowling innings SHSB were restricted to 5/89 of their 20 overs giving Kingborough the win with some very good bowling. Roy Stevenson was the leading bowler with 2/21 of his 4 overs, Charlie Wilkinson, Luke McCallum and Sam Morgan took 1 wicket a piece.
Batting first again in the final against North Hobart, Jaxon Thorpe and Jacob Petersen started excellently again making 23 and 22, respectively. Sam Morgan made another quick fire 27 and Patrick Harnwell chipped in with 15* at the end, leaving Kingborough with a total of 5/111. Getting off to a good start with the ball was vital and after 8 overs North Hobart were 4/35. But with some rear-guard action from North Hobart, they finished with 6/100, with some excellent death bowling from Patrick Harnwell (1/15) as well as 2 wickets from Elliot Ogilvie and 1 a piece from Charlie Wilkinson and Luke McCallum giving Kingborough the win.
