The President of the Kingborough District Cricket Club John French has announced that the Club Board has agreed to the appointment of Clive Rose as the Head Coach for season 2017/18. He will replace Tim Scott who coached the Club very successfully for the past 4 seasons.

Rose is currently contracted to the Hobart Hurricanes BBL Team but was overlooked for a Cricket Tasmania Tigers contract for the coming season which allowed the Knights appoint Rose to the Club Position.

The Club is confident that Rose who was an assistant coach at the Club last season can manage the senior role whilst continuing to play with the Hurricanes and the Knights. He has enjoyed great success as a player since joining the Knights 4 seasons ago, when originally contracted to the Tigers from his Melbourne Club, Casey South Melbourne.

The club has also announced the appointment of Mark Divin as Coach of the Senior Woman’s team to replace Bryce Turnbull who has stood down from that role. Divin, a level 3 coach has previously held the position of Club Coach but has returned to assist the ongoing development of the Women’s team with help from senior players Emily Divin and Lauren Hepburn.

Rose will also appoint Nathan Freitag and others to Assistant Coaching roles in the coming months. Rose will be arriving back in the State come July to commence preseason training for Under 17s and over on July 20th 5:30 PM at the High Performance Cricket Centre in Kingston.

The Board has also advised the Club AGM will be held on the 15th August at the Twin Ovals
