Great Season for Knights’ Teams

Congratulations to our playing group on winning back to back CTPL Club championships – a first in the History of our great Club.

The win is testament to our current player depth and the fact that we have so many talented players who have been prepared to bide their time before playing in higher grades. Young guns such as Riley Backhouse, Dylan Hay, Rhys Ward and Matt Coad have played well in First Grade when given the opportunity and only a broken collar bone at Christmas stopped another youngster in Alex Vincent from maintaining his position in the First Grade team.

With 5 teams having reached finals and our two ladies teams having just missed out on doing so, it is testament to the work of our mens and ladies coaching group. To Tim Scott, our Director of Coaching, and his team the Club acknowledge your great contribution to the results achieved.

Our junior teams have also acquitted themselves very well this season and our under 13 team will play a final after finishing fifth, the under 14s finished second only by percentage and are in the grand final this weekend. The under 16 team finished fourth and will also play a final this Sunday.

To all our junior coaches including the grade 3/4’s and 5/6’s the Club extends it’s thanks for your commitment throughout the season and look forward to catching up at the presentations on the 17th March.

The loss by our under 15 boys in their grand final last weekend came after a great season. Not having two of our better players available for day one as they were away with the State Team was unfortunate, but the team still performed very well and the club congratulates the team and coaches on playing in your third grand final in a row.

The club wishes all teams participating in Finals this weekend all the very best!
