Kingborough Prepares for Tilt at Third Title
A comprehensive victory in the Women’s Premier League Grand Final over the undefeated North Hobart Demons gave the Knights their second straight premiership last season, and under the guidance of their new coach, former Tasmanian and Kingborough player Mark Divin, the Kingborough Knights have begun training in a bid to claim a third successive title. Joined by University in early season training, both clubs are focusing on the development of skills and encouraging new players to take up the game. “Most of the skills work needs to be done this time of year. It’s an early start but it’s what the girls wanted and during the season the focus will move towards an understanding of how to play the game,” said Divin. Divin attributed Kingborough’s successes in the last two seasons to their depth and ability to continually attract and develop talented players.
